I am going to get a remote starter for my girlfriends '99 grand prix GT. I would like to know if I need the PASSLOCK BYPASS DOes anyone know where I can find this information out at?

If I am not mistaken any GM 99 and newer does. You can go to crutchfield and check it out for your car. They should tell you everything you need to do an install and if you need it or not.

I'm showing that 99+ has a transponder type of anti-theft system. To verify, "PK3" should appear on the key just below the rubber head. You will need a bypass module like this:

Check the key for the "PK3" designation. If it has it then it is the one pictured above. If not then it is the 555L. I'm getting incomplete or conflicting information from two sources:
