Hiya guys. Just about a month ago my cd player started skipping excessively. So I pulled it out, took it apart, turned it on and..noticed that the cd is spinning REALLY slow. Is the motor going bad or maybe something'* caught in there, or a magnet fell down..? Any suggestions? No it'* not under warranty.
It'* a DEH-P47DH.

The motor may be bad. But the controller circuit is probably the culprit. It gives the motor more or less voltage to adjust the speed of the motor. That is probably on the circuit board underneath the CD assembly. Usually the motor breaks and no longer spins.

Real clean. I have a S10, Bonneville, and a Blazer. All three had a Pioneer in them and it looks a lot better than the din (smaller) ones. The 77 is a real nice headunit.

Yes, that a really good idea!! You should post pictures of it, i would love to see it in the dash before i get it.
I was originally deciding between a Clarion and Alpine but i just decided to get the custom fit Pioneer...
Try to get pictures man!

No I dont have any pictures. I dont have a digtial camera yet. But crutchfield has some of it in dashes, it looks as good as those pics do.
I have moved them to my trucks anyway. I installed a Alpine cda-7998 that I just got about a month ago. I love this one. It sounds incredible, has tons of features and plays MP3s.
It took some work to get it to look right and to be honest I'm still working on it. I also have the swi-x steering wheel interface from PAC which is sweet.
So if you dont mind the din size ones I'd go with the Alpine, but if you want it to look nice in the dash go with the pioneer.
