monsoon drop-in quick question...
Hi,
On a previous thread... somewhere... I asked a question about replacing my monsoon amp with another monsoon amp (my current one is dead). Anyway, I am wondering what to look for in a replacement. I have an '03 ssei. Do I need to look for a specific year from the same model, or can I use just about any one from an equal year GP, or bonny ssei or GXP, or other car?
any help on this subject would be appreciated.
-Thanks,
-Me.

I have one here if you seriously need a new one... Well it is brand new only in the car in service for 7 months.
at the dealer you will pay around 350.00
I can let you have it for 250.00 shipped
PM me for info
It is out of a 04 GXP and will fit your car.

I think some 02s had them but it was mostly 03+ Bonnevilles. I dont know what other cars will interchange.
If you just need the CD player portion i can get you that for cheap, if you need the amp portion I'd have to look around.
car-part.com will be your friend, look for "uz8" that is the option code for the monsoon amp.

thanks for the reply,
go ahead and sell it if you can, I am currently just looking, and hoping to get enough money up to purchase in a couple months (I have to buy 4 tires for the thing.). I am currently using the one din clarion I have in my GMC Jimmy until I find the money in the dryer to pay for the new amp... (I know the dryer fairy will bring me a couple Benjamins one of these days...)
I guess my real question is more along the lines of, what type of amp options are available as a drop in? GP GTP, GP GXP, or am I tied to the Bonneville line?
maybe another question to go along with that one... are there any watt/amperage differences in terms of output between these amps as well? Would I be better of getting one from a GXP as opposed to one from an ssei?
thanks again.
