keep stock tweeters with aftermarket speakers? PICS
im getting new speakers in tomorrow so i took the door panel off and went about removing the stock speakers...my car has factory tweeters as well and id like to keep them...
the way it was set up is there were two wires soldered into the area around the wiring harness on the 5.25inch speaker in the door...these two wires ran up to become and adapter into which the wiring from the tweets plugged into....is it possible to duplicate this setup on the aftermarket speakers? if you need more clarification as to what im trying to say just ask and ill try.

aftermarket tweeters would cost more money, and i already have some so i thought if i could make them work i might as well...the ol' "smoke 'em if you got 'em" rule applies here.
as for speakers

im sure they arent the greatest in the world, but im sure theyre better than stock.

Yes it'* an affirm...
Just be sure to feed the tweets a full signal if there is a
crossover involved with the new speakers. The "harness"
you speak of is just a notch cap to cut out the low end
to feed the factory tweeters the proper signal.
Should just be a plug an play affair....

allright here are some pics
the setup as a whole, you can see the adapter i mentioned earlier that the tweeters plug into, and then the wiring going in behind the speaker
close up of the adapter
a little too-close up of the wiring to the stock speaker..
what i want to know is can i somehow duplicate this setup with the aftermarket speakers without having to buy an amp or crossover or anything like that...
im still on the stock HU btw, i put in my Jensen CD3720 and went back to stock pretty quickly, the stock HU smokes that one...ill probably get a different one eventually.
