I crank mine too on occasion. But I doubt I can be heard 3 or 4 blocks away!!
One thing I've noticed with these speakers. I can't turn the volume **** much higher than before, but it takes less volume for more "oomph".
Can't wait to be able to upgrade the fronts, now!!

I recently installed a pair of $40 Wal-mart speakers. The box said "Lightning Audio: A division of Rockford". I put them in yesterday. They sound excellent. And considering the my rear speakers haven't really worked since I got the car. Anything sounds nice.
Quick tip for testing bad rear speakers: Check the HU for loose connections first. If you don't have a volt-meter. I used a speaker from an old bookshelf stereo system. This is faster if you have someone in the trunk keeping the terminals touching. Turn on the radio...Set the Fade to rear...Set balance to speaker being tested...If you get sound, then you have a bad speaker. this worked for me.

Nice buy. If only I could go to Wal Mart, but the ones in my area are filled with people I just can't stand so I never go in. Plus, my dad is a musician and has made me crazy about sound quality, so I spent almost $800 on my stereo pre subs. x_x And thats with getting a pretty decent deal.

And good idea on the troubleshooting. No sense throwing big money to fix a little problem
