I am no longer allowed into WalMart unsupervised.

Someone said that the stock speakers are only good for about 10 watts. Sounds kinda low to me. Can anyone enlighten me?

I don't think i can enlighten you... My 91 LE came with some pretty decent for stock speakers.. And it would hit pretty good for stock too and with little distortion.. The 95 SE was a totally diffrent story.. The sound quality was horrid at best.. I had the basic speakers.. The fronts were better than the rears, it was sad... I chucked those factory rear speakers for a set of 3 way something or others... they laster a while and sounded better ny far... Then I chucked those for another Set of Someting or others... Then on to a set of 3 way JVC speakers... Those I actually liked.. Now I have a set of 4 way Pioneers back there... But the stock HU is showing its weeknesses with them.. But they still sond good all the way around... I added the factory Tweets to the front and went with a 3 way 5.25 speakers... Not too bad all the way around..
My 91 LE has had Pioneer speakers for a long time now, and it too sounds better than stock..![Wink](https://www.gmforum.com/gm/images/smilies/wink.gif)

I've got to learn to look away when you guys post stuff like this, lol. Mine also has just the most basic AM/FM/Tape Deck and speakers, so pretty poor sound quality. I've always been pretty cheap to myself on extras for my cars (until I discovered BC that is, lol). Now I have to find out how these work for you, John. Let us know, 'cause $40 is easy to "misplace" during a trip to MalWart.

they are great speakers for the price...i got them. I have the yellow ones though, but the stock speaker grill covers them. With an aftermarket HU...them things pound. They can rattle my trunk and rear window without my subwoofers...
