Well, I have new speakers for the car. Had to swing by WallyWorld to grab some new headphones for work. They were half what I expected to pay. So.... I wandered over to the auto section, as is my wont. Lo and behold, they had a set of 6x9'*, 225 wat Max, 75 watt Peak, for 40 bucks! Couldn't even see a brand name on the box. But, all the other speakers I have been looking at were half that again (at least) for 40 Watt peak.
Sooooo.... The Missus is gonna kill me.
I'll get pics of the box, which is securely hidden in my trunk, after the sun comes up.

Ooooooo.... Don't even get me started on a candy store. I had to go the long way out of the WalMart just to avoid the snack aisle. I had done enough damage for one day.
But, I got the headphones, ear buds, and a set of new speakers for only about 20 dollars more than I expected to pay for the headphones alone...

I managed to sneak in another break and verify the model. I did post the correct link before, and no, they are not yellow.
The reviews I found online make it sound like they're a pretty good budget brand. Should help lose some of the distortion from the stock speakers if nothing else....
I just wish I had my tools in my trunk. I'd have them installed tonight while I wait for the meeting I have to go to about an hour after work....
