I took the cluster apart disconnected stuff... put it all back together, nothing still...
-So i ripped the BCM out, one card is a 2 layer, the other is a 3:( so I cants see through the third one to find cracks... the 2 layer had no cracks... I heated up the pins inside so it should make better contact. Still nothing.
I looked around and in calgary a wreckers has TWO 91 buick riverias (odd to have that many) so he ripped out the BCM and for 110buxx I get a BCM that is the same as the one in my car. So if it still doesnt work... Then Im going to replace the cluster too... if theres still nothing ill drive it for a week, see if it all works after a while... then if theres still nothing I quess ill sacrifice my vehicle to GM'* service department (erg)

The BCM didnt come today. The bus said it would be here really tomorrow... cant wait!!-lol
Anyone from the Edmonton AB area see a trofeo sittin outside of Al'* cartown(used car sales)? lol...Well I took the BCM out and ran into edmonton and back.. Then because I forgot something I came back so ive already gone 60km and then the CD shuts off and tech goes wild! then it just off (not like a spudder from no gas-or a backfire from misplaced spark) so I wait, I turn the key... nothing... turn the key... slowly turns over makes a crackin sound(like a dead battery) Then I turn it over again--HOT DOG! it works so I drive onto the off ramp and just infront of al'* it stalls. (same thing with the CD and tech--but the engine didnt rev up--only the tech)
so I leave my keys in the damn thing (fustrated)... wifes not home... everyone I knows at work. so I hitch home...didnt take to long I dont look like most of the people trying to get rides... I relax..
Later like 10 hours later I go there... I left the keys in the ON postion! lol... so I take them out swap the battery.. no crank(SOB) so I hook up the bcm--YAY-- Vroom!! Maybe the sicurity system?--drive around without putting miles on it mite have pissed it off...
maybe the brand new battery mite fix the whole prob?--I can only dream... I'll find out tomorrow morning...

-but oh well... now I have an extra BCM... (and proms) I'll have to see the millage on them -j/j

Those gauge clusters. The gauge cluster problems plague the 92-99 SSE/SSEi.

So what was the problem with your gauge cluster, or did he just do a "tune-up"?

I think it blew somthing, maybe a circuit... I could fix it but he wont tell me how, -230 buxx for him! but im going to look it over when I get it back and see what he did.
