Couple of bass Qs and speaker install.
Ok, I'm new to all of this and I just bought a pretty nice system from a friend. I would like to know what you guys mean by removing the rear 6x9s? I see how to drop them off but do you mean disconnect them too? If so how do I do this...and will it affect sound much not having those speakers? Also what is this peal and seal you guys talk about? I want some for in my trunk I figured I could go to Home Depot. Thanks guys

some people remove the 6x9'* for the bass to trave through like port holes for your car. I like to have speakers back there and you can always open the ski pass so, if your 6x9'* dont put out or you dont care about losing mids in the back just remove them. I prefer to have them but i have beefed up my back speakers a bit. Peel and Seal is a product that is used for roofing and things like that, that is real comparable to dynomat (which is super expensive) you can save a nice chunk of money going the peal and seal route and it does deaden the rattles but no sound deadener is gonna take care of 100% of the problem so dont expect it to be perfect because of the trunk lid/bumper/everyhting else will still rattle so just take the rattling one step at a time.

I am not to overly worried about rattling, I actually eliminated quite a bit of that. So the product is actually called peal and seal? From what you say I would like to keep my 6x9s...maybe even install better ones, it looks to be extremely easy. How else can I let bass into the cabin more. I tested just dropping the 6x9s down and my bass was more clear and powerful.

I do have some black mesh that'd be perfect for going over a hole to make it look stock if anyone could come up with an idea of how to make ports. I look and it doesn't seem feasible other than taking out the 6x9s.
EDIT: Also I managed to find some Peel And Seal at Lowe'*. I picked up 4 rolls of 6"x25'. That was the only size roll they had and it was all I could afford for now.

How much is that Peal and Seal stuff?
also, if you are going to replace the rear speakers you could get a smaller size which would in turn leave open space to the trunk.
