To each his own on equipment, if YOU think it sounds good and you spent all you wanted to spend on stereo. GREAT!! That'* all that matters.......untill you go to your first stereo contest and sit and listen to a high end SOUND QUALITY setup, you'll never know the difference if you don't expose yourself to hi-fi sound.
I got suckered in.

Oh definetly get what you like the most.
For small normal systems under 1000w RMS a cap is unnecessary IMO. My buddy'* 91 firebird i installed a SONY ES (yeah, it is nice) that'* running 1000w @ 1ohm (never crashed either) and his headlights barely dim. If you're running multiple amps, or are SQ/setup competing you'll want a cap. My headlights only dim once the engine'* been warmed up for quite some time at idle, and i have a pretty damn beefy amp.
My deal with a cap is it'* actually pulling more power through the system, because it needs to fill up. They have their places, but if you're alt'* putting out it'* 14v constant while driving, you'll be fine.
I'd rather buy a nice set of components instead of a big cap....

sony ES it bet if you put it on the bench its not running at 1000w try like 6 or 700ish
ok i had a XTANT 6001A which is a sub amp stable a 2 ohms 600 watts i had a 90 gp stock 105 alt(brand new matter of fact) I needed a Cap only 1 fared but if i didnt have one the light would dim and my system sounded like **** so would reccomend a CAP to anyone who is serious about SQ you can have some bump in the trunk but does i meet your SQ standerds more power to you but some people are more interested in SQ then you
