okay i figured it out for real this time because of the year they used both harness'* a gm 12 pin the big ugly one, and a gm 21 pin harness I have a gm 21 pin harness now! I'm good a made a few late night phone calls could drive around without a radio, now could i?.lol

Yes, it'* from an 87-89 Trofeo and it was a challange to install and make it look like it is original equipment.

okay I finally have the right pin and everything is color matched accordingly, I've installed maybe 10 decks in my lifetime and this is the first time that when I start the car the stereo makes a farting noise! for a breif few seconds! never had this happento me before? any idea'*? could this be the built in amp causing this noise it only does it for a few seconds when the car starts and then the it works perfect and sounds great!

Your 'farting' noise sounds like a bad ground... does it time with the power antenna? Just an idea...
