Just so I can try and be accurate here, I'm assuming this is going into your 2003 SSEi ? Can you post and/or send me the RPO codes for your stereo/audio options. I'll have a look tomorrow in the shop manual and will be able to provide better information on how you can check to see if they are required. When I was looking for them, they were very hard to get (may not be anymore). I have three or four left over I'll send if you need them.

Hey Pat, this is a great thread as I am going to do this in my Aurora as well Geoff is going to send me the changer and I'm going to give it a shot. If you are looking for a changer, check with LKQ (or whatever the name of the big wholesaler is on EBay for car parts). Last one I saw on there from them was $75 including magazine, brackets and unit.
I too think it is just splicing into the wiring. If we can get a wiring harness, all the better, but I'm willing to make my own wiring if need be.
As others have mentioned, the real question is how you splice into the stupid dock 'n lock connector....
Pat....have you considered upgrading to a Nav radio from the Aurora? It will bolt right up and work fine. I just got a refurb'd unit from the dealer, $600 with a 1 year warranty.
I'll be watching this post carefully as I want to tackle this myself before it gets really cold out (if it ever does)....be sure to post your notes and I'll do the same once I know what we need for parts.

Yeah GM made a NAV unit (dock and lock no less!) for the Aurora for 2002-2003....it is VERY hard to find because as you know the Aurora got the noose in 2003....and not many cars came with NAV.
The Nav unit is actually VERY nice, the interface and system is much better than what is in my X5....for example, it can read CD TEXT off CDs, it has a built in HTML browser for viewing web pages, it has a IR receiver on the front for BEAMING addresses into it from a PDA, and the GPS can retrieve the time from the GPS signals no more setting the clock It also has RDS like our standard radios, they didn't forget anything which is great.
This was one of the first NAV units GM produced....and they really put some nice features into it. As time progressed and they started putting Nav into other cars, they cut some features like the IR Beaming, CD text, HTML browser, etc. It'* a very nice unit.
Not only did I have a hard time tracking down a unit....I had a heck of a hard time tracking down the antenna and MAP CDs.....GM has a "Nav Disc Center" website that they send you to....I called the # and they no longer stock any map CDs for this unit, but I finally have them and will be happy to share.
At any rate, to make a long story short, I'd love to see someone install this in a Bonne....only issue is the backlighting, but if you just change the bulb condoms (grab a dead radio from a junkyard and steal them from it) you would be perfectly fine!
Check out a link to this EBay auction for an Aurora with the NAV to see some more screenshots....

At any rate, to keep this on topic, this NAV unit WILL accept a CD Changer (it came factory with the Aurora when you got NAV), and this is why I want to do the same thing you want to do
The nice thing is that the car will instantly recognize the CD Changer once we hook up the Class 2 data bus connections....almost like plug 'n play

If you are not a technical person, this would also make it quite easy for a local audio shop to do. I can certainly provide additional direction if required.
I feel for those suffering the frustrations of adding additional factory options. I have just successfully completed the addition of the factory XM radio components to my '04 GXP. Something GM assured me couldn't be done!

Hey Chris,
That NAV unit looks awesome! Unfortunately when I looked in the shop manual, it doesn't look like it supports XM radio or I'd try and put one in my GXP :(
As for the Dock-N-Lock terminals, I had a contact at Delphi a few years ago and I was able to get them back when I put a changer in my '02 SE. Apparently lots has changed there the past couple of years and I no longer have that option. There are a couple of other possibilities though which might work. The GM part number for the connector is 15356939. I don't know if this is just the connector housing, or a pigtail. I suspect though it'* just the housing based on my previous experience when ordering connectors. The other option would be to track down an auto wrecker and see about purchasing part of the wiring harness. The terminals can be removed from the housing individually. If you can get 3 or 4 inches of the harness it would give you enough length you could splice on the number of terminals you need.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

OK, thanks, I appreciate the info none the less. When you talk about the connectors you are using, are you talking about a connector that piggy-backs onto the existing dock 'n lock connector, or did you use one of the male or female connectors on the dock 'n lock?
Not sure about the NAV Radio -- it does have the "BAND" button which typically lets you know it can handle an Auxillary source, but you are right, I'm not sure it can handle XM either.... that would be an expensive lesson if not :(

If I can figure out how to add photos to a post, I can take a picture of one of the terminals I'm referring to.
