What fan am I hearing?
On the way home from NEBF (of course...it wouldn't start when I was there with all the Gearheads available)... I noticed I can a hear a fan running. Never was able to hear it before. It'* present as soon as I turn on the car....with or without the ac/heater on. It diminishes when I accelerate, but that may be the engine/muffler sound drowning it out.
How many fans (or things that make a fan-like noise) are there? Could a switch have gone bad? Could it be from me being pushed on top of my engine while installing the wire boots?

There are only three fans. One for the climate control, and a low and high speed cooling fan on the radiator. When you get in and turn the ignition on and hear it, can you get out and verify the two biguns aren't spinning?

Confirmed...It'* not the two biguns for the radiator. It'* easily heard inside the cabin. Not clearly detectable in the engine bay. Windows can be up or down. Hear it while driving or at a stand still. With the climate control on and off. No new electronics.
It'* different from the blowing noise made when the heat/ac is on. This is a "whirring" noise...simply sounds like a fan motor running. Sort of med-high pitched.
My darned camera tapes movies with a .mov file... I'm downloading Apple Quicktime now to see if I can get it to play.

Did not start with the new plugs... we did take off the plug wires to install the Intense wire boots at NEBF. I noticed it on the way home. Would speakers amplify a sound even with the radio off?

Tracy, the stereo is very easy to remove. Try disconnecting it and see if the sound goes away. This will isolate the speakers from being able to pick up any EMI or a signal floating on the ground circuit.

Ah...sneaky little twits aren't they? ... if it'* only an amplified sound, I shouldn't be too concerned...?? I was afraid of burning out a fan that is not supposed to be on all the time... I wonder if it'* the boots?
Badnit... drats...getting back behind the engine bruised me the first time.
This was taken in the car, windows up...I reved the engine slightly two times to discern between engine sounds and the higher pitched sound I'm hearing. I can pick it out better after the second revving.
