Well I was able to make it to the shop today, however I'm not sure it helped too much. They could not find anything mechanically wrong with any of the suspension or steering components in the front end. They did notice that on all four of my tires (Goodyear Integrity), the center three treads were lower than the other treads on the tire. It something that you can feel as you run your hand over the circumference of all the tires. They did not believe this to be the result of over pressurization or an alignment issue. So they suggested I have the tires balanced again, if that doesn't fix the problem, the next step would be to replace the tires. I'm going to try take to one of those road force balancers to see if that helps.

How much more expensive are the hunter machines compared to the standard ones?

You should not have to pay more than $75 to have the tires road force balanced using the GSP9700. Use the website mentioned above to find one near you.

I'd recommend shopping around to find one where they have a knowlegeable technician who knows how to troubleshoot the GM problem on the H bodies. Some tire stores have them and they are trained to balance... period. I'd recommend a Pontiac dealer, or a Buick or Cadillac dealer where they have done troubleshooting on these chasses before.

Well, it has been fixed finally. I ended up taking it back to the place the balanced the tires the first time and my driver side rear was about an ounce off. That solved about 90% of my vibration. I'm sure a RFB would solve the rest of it, however I couldn't find one that would do it for less than $100, which I thought was a little much to balance four tires.

I had read that our cars were sensitive to vibrations...but I never imagined that it was this sensitive.

I have read TSB'* about the newer GM wheels causing slight vibrations. Pretty much, your gonna have to live with it.

I agree, it is definitely important to find someone who knows the GSP9700 well. I contacted the regional Hunter Technician in my area to see who he would reccommend if it was his car being worked on I got the name of a good guy who does the work at reasonable prices.
