If the car is not surging or bucking your not going to fix the problem with plugs and wires. The fuel filter maybe the problem have seen several of them so clogged that the car wouldn't accelerate properly cause of fuel starvation. I'm still betting on it being a cat. Keep us posted.

didnt bother getting the code checked at GM, they want +$100 ... might as well fix the problem and get new parts while im at it :P

yes i understand what you guys mean, but i am pretty confident that if the plugs/wires/fuelfilter doesnt do the trick, then i will cerainly solve the problem with a new cat. i am going to install the new parts soon and see if that does it. i do have a feeling it might be the cat, since it sounds like **** when the car is idling in park and i peek my head under the body.
ill keep you posted

Kneel on the front of the car, take the socket and feel where the plug is and put it on,then reach in and feel where the ratchet fits in the socket and put the ratchet on you may need a small or large extension whatever fits best (or a swivel ext)I think I just used small ext.Now crack the plug so it is loose take the ratchett out and use your fingers to turn ext and socket and plug all together till the plug can be turned by hand. 20 min job

Is it possible to rock the motor forward and place apiece of wood between the motor and the firewall somewhere to hold it slightly forward for more room?
Myself I use a block to stand on next to the side of the car giving me a lot longer reach into the compartment. I stand on one or two 24 packs of soda cans (pick your favorite flavor). I guess beer cans would work too! Might be more useful afterwards!

ok boys, i changed the spark plugs and wires with not too much trouble at all. took the car out for a spin and it ran like a charm! no hesitation to accelerate what-so-ever. i have not felt or heard the car drive so smooth for a while. i am pretty satisfied with the progress. now the next thing to replace is the fuel filter, too bad i dont know where it is... some1 give me a pointer? im guessing somewhere tucked infront of the gas tank?
should i bother changing the cat? i could do it for $h!ts (cat costs around $95 CDN). it might help it a bit, the cat still might be a bit clogged and bogging down the performance.
remember, some1 tell me where the damned fuel filter is!

The fuel filter is on the drivers side, under the car, roughly about where the back seat is. When you look under the car, from the drivers side, the first thing that you will likely see it the rather large black rectangular box (the evaporative canister). The filter will be next to that, a little closer to you than what that canister is.
The cat, if it it isn't causing problems, is more of a personal choice. Some change it out in order to put in a high-flow cat over the stock. If you're going to replace it, that'* what I'd suggest.
