Trac Control Issue

Trac Control Issue
When driving my car on cruise control or just tooling around town, the trac control light on the dash lites up and at the same time on my DIC 'stability system activated' shows up. They both go off about two to three seconds later. It will disable the cruise control when going down the highway. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks

Advise getting your codes read with a Tech II. Autozone, etc. readers will not read your brakes or airbags. After having just been all through this I'm betting on a wheel bearing hub going south. Getting codes read will reveal that so you do not spend $$ and time "fishing" for an answer.

had this problem
2001 ssei bonny, random modulation of left front brake. No codes. Replaced both front wheel sensors (hubs). Left it with dealer for a week, they drove it with a scanner, talked to Pontiac for hours, swapped out both rear hubs, gave up on problem - no charge. Great guys (Burdette Bros.) I gave it one last shot by replacing the steering wheel position sensor, and haven't had the problem again (yet - only 2 days).

edmc,
Glad to hear about your success! Feels good when you do it yourself doesn't it.
Question: what procedure did you use to replace the sensor? This appears to be quite a task per the manual.

I had the dealer do it - Burdette Brothers in Maryland - first class dealership. They worked to diagnose this problem for a week at no charge, so they earned the job when I decided to get it done. What bothered me (besides a sensor that craps out in 5 years)is that Pontiac told them it couldn't be the steering wheel sensor that was causing the problem. I figured that the computer thought it was doing what it should be doing. It generated no codes, so it must be getting faulty input. We had eliminated the wheel speed sensors, so that was all that was left. Hope I saved somebody else some trouble.
