Steering problem final solution...
Hey all,
You can search my other posts for the whole story, but the long and short of it is...
1)Intermediate shaft service performed at dealer :?
2)Dealer can't fix induced power steering leaks and various other problems
3)Filed for arbitration hearing with the Better Business Bureau
Today, finally, after four months of hell with GM, the BBB and the local dealer (Hall Auto Mall of Va Beach, VA) GM repurchased our 2002 SSEi for a prorated price, and exchanged it for a 2005 GXP. We got a better price, newer car, better financing and a cool V8 rumble! My first was an SLE, then the SSEi, now a GXP. Can't wait for the rear wheel drive model...?!?!
Gotta say, though, I would not recommend this process for the faint of heart. You will spend much time arguing and screaming at various GM executives, service managers, shop foremen, service writers, Attorneys General, etc., who will tell you none of your problems are "their concern".
I am well versed in the problems with steering on these otherwise great cars, so if anyone wants specifics, feel free to write. Meanwhile, I am jumping to the GXP forum, but will bounce here for news every now and again.

It sure does SUK that you had to go through the whole 'nasty route' with all the customer service 'executives' to handle your problem[I didn't really read all of your posts on your troubles, but I can only Imagine the hassles you encountered),......bottom line,I guess, is that you are out from under your SSEi (at their pro-rated 'trade-in value/price)and into a GXP,which hopefully is a GOOD thing........

Congrats, I am actually amazed you got anywhere with GM.....which is one of the reasons why I would never buy a new car from them (or from any of the big 3)
