Let me know when you get it fixed that way I know it helped.
Pearl_bonniie02 did your dealer give you a warranty on your rack? I would talk with them about it. 01 and 02 SSEi'* were the one'* with this problem from the sheet my dealer gave me. I don't now if the rack they put in mine is any different than the one they took out, so I guess I could have another issue with this later like you are. I hope not, but it makes me glad I did buy the warranty just in case.
On another note the shimmy isn't as gone as I thought it was. I wasn't driving the car much and I thought it was gone but it'* not. I haven't talked back with my dealer about it, and now I'm not as sure as I was about it just being the tires. Does anyone have a clue as to what it may be?

The shimmy in the wheel at 70 is now at 60 but if you didn't know it you probably wouldn't even feel it and it no longer pulles to the right. These tires are original from 2002, they have good tread but they are old and some new ones wouldn't hurt. I'll wait a while on that for now though.
Also I can't believe it. The steering noise is starting to come back It hasn't been driven more than 2K miles since the repair. I have read some post where some of you had it come back but I just had it fixed and it'* already doing it again. It starting to do it with the wheel being turned to the right again. Only difference now is I can't make it do it like before. It seems to only be doing it in reverse backing up with the wheel being turned to the right, as I'm backing out of a parking spot.
I talked with my dealer about it today. The thing that sucks the most is when they replaced the gear (rack) they had my car for 3 or 4 days. And on the third visit on the vibration issue they had my car another 5 days.

Vibration fixed http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=87973 Warped rotors were the cause

My car makes a clunk and/or a shudder when I back up with the wheel turned to the right!!!!!!! (sometimes left too) Do you and I have the same car or what! But mine will occasionally do it in forward too come to think of it.
Now, I remember reading a post that said the power steering lines might be the cause too, but mine were replaced and it still shudders and clunks. Something about unequal pressure? I dunno, but I am sorry to hear that your problems continue....
