I posted a few days ago regarding a loud noise that sounded like a whales moan. Aaron (toastedoats) took it for a ride and was unsure of what this noise was too. My dad gave me the report on what the dealers technician said when we brought it up to them before purchasing:
CUSTOMER STATES NOISE IN STEERING CLUNK/GRIND CHECK AND ADVISE
TECH TEST DROVE VEHICLE DID HEAR SFLUID TYPE NOISE TECH CHECKED P/* FLUID, OK. TECH INSPECTED F/E OK AND FOUND NO PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE AT THIS TIME, TECH CHECKED FOR INFORMATION FOUND A BULLETIN STATING THIS CONDITION MAY BE CAUSED BY A POWER STEERING GEAR VALVE INSTABILITY, RESULTING IN A PRESSURE DISTURBANCE WHICH CREATES AN AUDIBLE NOISE THAT IS TRANSFERRED THROUGH VEHICLE STRUCTURE THIS IS NOT A SAFETY CONCERN AND IS NORMAL FOR THIS VEHICLE.
Doesn't seem too normal if nobody else has it. Thoughts?

Why is this in Your Ride? I'm not sure what topic this is linked to. And, I'm not sure where to move it since your signature doesn't contain your year or trim level. I'm assuming a 2K+. Please update your signature.

my car makes the same noise. I replaced my rack (due to it being bad), and then my high pressure p/* hose about 2,000 miles ago and it still does it from time to time. I've had the car checked out, and there is nothing wrong. It'* just something to live with i guess.

Yeah...probably the same TSB that I posted in your first thread on it.
