Hey guys - update.
Had the car checked at GM. Came up with the same codes as before, cleared them, test drove and couldn't duplicate problem. They said for me to take it and see if the codes come back. Well within the hour I got the DIC stablity message again so I took it back this week and they reported C1281 and C1282 again.
They now recommend replacing the Yaw Rate sensor, parts and labour over $900 not including the $131 from last week.
Does this compute for any of you gearheads?
Thanks again!

Yes, it is possible to generate DTC'* C1281, 1282 if a Yaw Rate Sensor is faulty. I'm just hoping that the techs exhausted every other possibility. In other words the Steering Wheel Position Sensor and the Lateral Accelerometer Sensors have been checked for proper operation.

Yes apparently that was checked last week as functional. I sure wish they would develop systems that point "specifically" and accurately to a particular part.

Another question please.
The part retail is $740 from the dealer. I called another GM Dealer where I've had an ongoing relationship and got a price of $564. I also NAPA here in Canada and they say they don't sell the part (correction: the guy I spoke with said so).
Do any of you know if it'* available aftermarket here or in the US?
Cheers!!!

Yeah, that $900 price estimate is really steep. That is Canadian $, yes? Still expensive as heck. The yaw rate sensor is not all that big a deal to replace. It'* located on the underside of the rear shelf.
