The steering column position sensor is located at the bottom of the steering column near the firewall on the inside. The column has to be removed to replace it. When it is replaced, it will have to be centered properly. Looking at the service bulletin from replacing it, there appears to be a couple of different parts that it could be using.
You don't have to shout (Please turn off the caps lock) Some of us may be old, but we can still hear ok. Also,, please put your vehicle information in your profile (link at the top of the page). It makes it a lot easier to help you with your questions.
There are a few possibilites as to what could be causing your problem besides this sensor. Have you had the car scanned for codes?
Here'* a link of a recent discussion on it.
