rear shock mount
So how does one attack that shock mount? From underneath? In the trunk? Also, does anyone have a part number? The aftermarket is pretty useless on this one. :?:

You get to the shock mount through the trunk. You'll have to remove or pull back the trunk trim on each side to get to it. There'* a rubber cover over it. I don't have a part number, I just ordered mine through my local parts supplier. It was identical to what I removed. I believe they carry them at Advanced Auto Parts, although that is not where I got mine.

Thankee there, Archon. :P I've tried Advance Auto Parts online, with no luck. Maybe I haven't found the right nomenclature. 25 years in the business, I know a loose shock noise, so I'm sure that'* my problem. Thanks again.

It took me a bit to find it too, they actually call it a strut mount, even though we have shocks in the rear. Here'* one:
Moog Chassis Prod. K5341
Strut Mount: Rr Susp; Upper; Kit; 2 Per Vehicle
1 Year Limited Warranty
Ships in 1 day
Weight: 6 lbs.
$22.99
And the more expensive...
Mcquay Norris SM7283 See image and details for this item
Shock Mount: Rear
3 Month Limited Warranty
Ships in 1 day
Weight: 0.8 lbs.
$61.99
I think that AutoZone, and NAPA also carry them.

That was and is some very good information, as long as those reading realize that your post is regarding the front struts mounts, and we have been discussing the rear shock mounts.
