Shock Mounts

Shock Mounts
A couple of weeks ago, I started to hear noise coming from the pasenger side rear of the car. I found that top shock mount was bad, and the rod from the shock was pushing through. The concave washer on the top was a good 3/4 inch above the top of the mount. I replaced the mounts and shocks, and didn't think much more about it - until today.
A friend who also has a 2000 SSEi mentioned that the car was making noise. We went for a ride, and could hear a subtle rattling from the back end. I checked the same mount, and found that it is starting to do the same thing. This one is only about 1/4 through so far.
Anyone else experiencing this? If you hear some noise (rattle, bang, etc.) from the back of the car...may want to start by looking here.

I can get a picture of the one that is just starting to go bad. I already threw mine away. Even though mine only has about 66,000 miles on it, I just considered it as one of those things that happen and just tossed it all.. After I removed the top nut, the entire center part of the mount came out with the rod. Now that I've come across a second car with the same problem, I thought we may have another common problem here, and should let people know. It seems a bit too coincidental. The car that has the current problem has about 75k miles on it. I'll see if I can get a picture and post it tomorrow.

My driver’* side front shock mount has been replaced by the dealer (20,000 miles or so). The front strut was rattling over bumps, still kind of does it… Kind of lame for a 34,000 dollar car…
