SERVICE STABILITY SYSTEM??? whats this about?
So I was coming home from work today on the highway, had the cruise set ~75mph or so, and then I hear the "ding, ding, ding" and the "service stability system" message shows on the dic. What would cause this and should I be worried? The car didnt feel any different at all and seemed to ride/drive fine? Any clues?

Maybe check the tire pressures to ensure it'* not a factor.

2 things can light the "Service stability system",
1: A bad wheel speed sensor (but the ABS light should light "on" too.
2: A bad steering wheel positionning sensor (can be that)
Its nothing dangerous, your electronic steering system assist will disengage each time the "service stability system" will appear. (you will not feel a difference in the steering)
I can be wrong but just ask a dealer near you.

I took it back out and ran the absolute pee-water out of it, out a twisty, country road, pushing it pretty hard, and ended the trip back on the interstate in the same conditions the light came on in the first time, and nothing. No light. Maybe it was just fluke? If it'* nothing serious I may not even take it back to the dealer unless the message shows again here in the next couple of days. I swear, I've only owned this car for a little over a month and it'* been quite a bit of trouble (if I didnt love driving it so much, I'd have traded it back in by now).

I had a lot of problem mine too, this "service stability system" alert can be intermittent, it will probably come back. sorry.
With all the problem i had i still really love to drive it(when its fine), but when things go bad i just want to hit the thing in a wall.

My 03 had the light come on a couple of times. Since it was still under 3yr 36 warranty I got it in to the dealer who replaced the steering wheel sensor.
I got the impression these are giving some problems. I just hope this one fixes it for the rest of its life that I own the car.
