replace plugs soon?
I have an 02 ssei with approx. 55K on it, I was wondering when it would be recommended to replace the spark plugs (and or wires)....in the cold and damp chicago weather thats been hanging around in the last couple months I noticed that my car idles rough at times........if I replaced the plugs what are good plugs to get and what should i avoid?
some stores around me are advance auto parts, pep boys, napa, murray'*, and auto zone
for info sake to help answer my question also, everything is pretty much stock although i am planning on getting a pulley very soon, nothing drastically small something along the lines of a 3.5"

I typically avoid platinums for my SSEi (I once had Bosch platinums and they misfired under load, however I just installed Autolite Platinums and they do their job from idle to flat out. I was a little surprised actually. Externally they look like a very well-made and finished plug. At least I won't have to change them for a good deal longer than the non-platinums. On my old '92 SSE I got 250K miles on two sets of Bosch platinums. I only changed the first set at 100K miles because I thought I ought to, but they looked like new when I pulled them out. Don't know why the Bosch platinums don't work in the SSEi'*.
