I think these are the correct (auto-leveling) Monroe Shocks - the picture shows them white - but I think they are actually black...

MonroeŽ Suspension Conversion Kits convert a vehicle’* factory equipped air or electronic suspension to a non-air or non-electronic suspension set up.

This fits your: 2002 Pontiac Bonneville

Not totally sure, the white ones are for converting to a self leveling system, where you add and lower the air pressure via Schrader valve, they sell a kit to use for it..

The second sounded like the right setup, but I am not sure what else you need with them, they just look naked to me, lol

Anyone familiar with KYB shocks...?

The reviews on these seem to be better than the Monroe ones...

I'm going to be making that decision soon myself, I have heard good things about KYB, but I found a MOOG strut for my cars fronts that looks good, and gets good reviews..
Are you going for a quick strut?

So I am not sure if my suspension air compressor is working or not - sometimes I hear what I think is it operating - but not sure.

If I get the "correct" (auto-leveling) shocks - will the shocks "work" (keep the car at one height) - even if the suspension air compressor doesn't work?

I know they won't inflate and deflate without the compressor working - but will they still work as 'normal" shocks...?

You can get those white ones, the MA822, but you will need this kit.
Amazon Amazon

You can then get your own little portable pump, and manually add air pressure to them.
I think around 40lbs is what most add, if you have more weight in your trunk you'd add more air to keep it all level..

They will be here Monday.

Will they work - but just not inflate and deflate, etc...?

Yeah I don't see why they wouldn't, they are gas struts right?

Let me know how you like them, I am in the market for new front struts on my 2006 Grand Prix GT, debating on AC Delco Professional, Moog, KYB, or Monroe...
