Question about rear window reg...
I have the regulator out and disassembled and my questions is basically this...the plastic take up real for the cable has been pretty chewed up and the cable was kinked in a couple of places, is it worth trying to repair on my own own or send it in and have it rebuilt by a professional? Or do one of you expert want to rebuild it for me. I think it is pretty chewed up by that is my layman opinion! I can get pics if you need to see it! Let me know asap as I need to send it off now if it needs it! Thanks,

I've had some pretty badly kinked cables, and chewed up reels work just fine. The amount of force on those cables straighten them out pretty well, and the roll on and off the reel without a problem. I'd only be concerned if the cable is frayed.

Archon...doesn't appear to be frayed just kinked in a place or two and bhas some interesting gentle bends in it at the end of the run! Also the entire plastic piece appears to be breaking not just where the cable goes. I think I will attemp to try and just put it back together and see how long it lasts! Input is always welcome though!

Which plastic piece? The one in the middle of the sled? If so, that is not unusual. The original fix is to connect the two cables together to take most of the stresses off from the plastic. Sometimes, the cable finds its way through the hole in the bracket, and others have had problems with the bracket popping off. This thread addresses those problems.
