idk, doesnt really sound like a rod knock. that usually has a different sound.
can you tell exactly where its coming from? do you have a stethescope. its really hard to tell from a video, where its at.
kinda sound like something higher than the rods. once again hard to tell tho
edit, did you check the oil for metal specs. check dipstick oil with a magnet. if you spun a rod bearing, you should find metal.

Ok that was a quick post. Lets get to business.....
Car ran great all weekend (lol only like 45 miles). Get on the interstate home, cruising at around 75. Drove about 200 miles and stopped for gas. Brother heard a noise at the stop sign, pulled in for gas. opened hood, and yup. It is like a tapping noise, coming from (by human ear) the supercharger. Middle section where fuel lines are. It doesnt change notes with accel, maybe a little with decel. Also is a very rapid vibration on the fuel lines (not sure if that is normal). We are going to pull the charger belt tomorrow (no torque star bit) and check that. Also going to buy a scope and try to pin point it.
Oil looks good on stick and no shavings. The motor literally has about 250 miles since we changed the oil.
Anymore details needed or anything ask away and i will try to get as much info as i can.

by the soumd, i was knida thinkin the charger, but cant say specifics from a vid.
what about the charger oil? would it make that noise if there was no oil?

Take the belt off the supercharger, start her up and see how it sounds...just to rule it out. How'* the coupler? Any play when you take off the belt?
That almost sounds like valvetrain noise of some sort though. I'm used to something similar on my SSEi since my valvetrain isn't even remotely stock and the headers make it more audible.

Ok, tomorrow after work he is going to stop by. We will take off the belt and check to see if the noise goes away (indicating the charge).
If that isnt it then we will start checking valvetrain. (definently isnt under front valve cover, but we will check the back) (have to know it will not be the easy one)

yeah, thats way too fast to be valvetrain at idle. (at least to my ears) if i could say anything, definitely supercharger or possibly something connected to a pulley, but i don't think anything else can make that noise.

It'* not the SC. If it were, the sound would change DRAMATICALLY when revved up. The SC runs at a MUCH higher rate than the engine. Compare the size of the crank pulley and SC pulley as a comparison.
