platic intake
Yeah, so anyway i was surfing through some new post and came across something that worries me.
How biga problem is the plastic intake on the 2000+ N/A Series II??
Is this something I should be concerned about??
And Is there anything I can do to remedy a possible problem??
Thanks for the help
Tim

Tim, GM alledgedly re-designed the problem area on the upper intake manifold for the L36'* in 2000+ cars. The main problem being the EGR stove pipe causing failure of the UIM. I'm not entirely sure, but I haven't heard of UIM failures in the 2000+ cars.

It shouldnt be too big an issue. Whenever you have the hood up check your coolant reservoir and make sure you arent missing an inordinate amount. Also check your radiator hose, if it'* collapsed you could have a problem.
