Oil Pressure out of this world.
I get in my car this moring to go to school. She starts up fine and drives normal..until about 1 minute later. I look down at my Oil Pressure gauge. Hmmm the needle is farther and I'm not flooring it or even pushing it. It quickly climbed to 120+psi and it is there every time you start it up. What is going on here? Is it the gauge or is it the motor? I smell a oil when I rev, but there is no leakage anywhere...what do I do?

Ok so does anybody have a pic of what I need and can/should I drive the car while I wait for the part? Are there other parts that will need to be replaced as I replace this one?

Here'* the location. https://www.gmforum.com/trouble-shooting-test-procedures-141/oil-pressure-sensor-location-284737/ Your car will be fine to drive. You only need a new sensor. Remove the old one, a little oil will come out, then put in the new one and plug it in. Done.

There is a special socket made for the oil pressure senders. I don't know if you can rent one from trhe part stores, but you can buy one for around ten bucks

Special tools are always great to have. However, if your only going to do this one time, then use a box wrench. Might be a little extra effort, but will save some money. Me on the other hand, I buy what ever special tool is needed because I seem to do things more then one time.
