ok. I just did mine this weekend, here'* whats what...
Again, I have an 02 SE, I don't know how much is different from year to year and trim to trim.
You will be working under the vehicle. This allows for the easiest access to the pressure sender. As such you will need a good jack, two jack stands, an oil drain pain (amount that will drip is porportional to the angle that the car is at on the jack stands) and a 1and 1/16" deep socket as well as a socket wrench or breaker bar and a 3" extension for whatever diameter your socket wrench is.
Jack it up and secure it on stands.
Use a creeper if you have one.
The sensor is located above the oil filter. You do not need to remove anything to get to it and change it.
disconnect the harness.
use the socket wrench with the extension and remove the broken sensor by going over the top of the CV(I think thats what it is). it is not in there very tight. When it comes out all the way OIL WILL DRIP/SEEP OUT.
Reverse the process to install the new one.

I was due for an oil change but couldn't break the filter or drain plug loose (it was cold and I had a bad angle), so I took it up to Valvoline and they changed the sensor out for me at no charge while they did the oil change.

This is a great forum and I check on things occassionaly. About the same day the post came out re: oil pressure, my gauge did the same thing. I can't believe the timing.
It'* going in for that and I need an intermediate shaft. The dealer said they were on back order for about 4 weeks and he thinks they just changed suppliers. The IS for the trucks came with a new part #, and he believes they just changed the part # for the IS on our cars.
