Loose Tranny Mount?
Ok, so one day i was just leaning up against the car with the hood open and when i rocked the car back the whole thing moved. I rocked it back and forth and the motor and tranny would rock along with it. So i looked down at the tranny mount (which is straight down the radiator at the front of the car) and i see the mount moving up and down. There is play between the bottom of that mount and the frame. How big of a problem is this? Should i get it fixed ASAP? Also could this be the only mount thats bad? I called around shops and they want almost 300 to get it done. Any suggestions?

That mount will have play. check the strut that is on it and make sure it'* not loose. There are other mounts. 2 in back and another on the right side of the engine.

whats the strut? Sorry im new to all this. I checked both nuts on the top and the bottom of that mount and both seem to be really tight. So ok im gonna move to the motor mounts. Where exactly are they on this motor?

Dan.. none of the 96-99 mounts are the same as the 2000+ mounts.
The front mount has the consistency of a marshmallow when it'* new. Many folks choose to swap it with a hockey puck or something similar. Usually the front mount is bad and the only one that goes bad easily.
