This is obviously a very personal preference. I never had one in previous vehicles and now that I do, I really like having it. I believe it adds an element of safety to driving and I rarely ever look away from the road at my speedometer anymore. If you understand its purpose and use it correctly, it is not a waste of time and is one more tool available to the driver. This isn't an entertainment device for others in the car and its not there to add excitement to your drive.
