Hi Speed Fan Switch Install - Bad news!
#21
I wired both the power and ground wires for the switch into the accessory cigar lighter.
The fan switch till has power all the time and can be turned on anytime regardless of the power shut off. :? It'* a little confusing because the radar detector only gets power when the key is on and when the key is turned off power only stays on for the 10 minutes accessory delay off feature.
Wierd!
I wired a light in line with the switch so it tells me when it'* on so I don't forget and drain the battery. Thanks for that idea PontiacDad.

I'm convinced your switching the ground and the cig lighter is switched on the hot with the 10 min timer.....sure sounds like it. Kinda wierd the radar would quit and the fans keep running unless it were the ground?

I still don't understand why the switch light will come on and ohm meter reads 12v on the same power and ground lead connections as the radar detector, but the radar detector only comes on with the key on and turns off with the accessory 10 min delay key off??
