I looked at a new battery yesterday at Advance Auto. The standard replacement was like $128 and an Optima red top was like $130.... I know the Optima is preferred by most here and it comes with the drain.

I currently have AC delco , not sure if it is original. After charged up I left it overnight and it kept charge at 12.6 V in cold garage .I tried the ohm meter on the cable - post to check for parasitic drain and had .02 ma.Recleaned all connections and added diaectric grease.See what happens tonight.

I just had alternator and battery bench tested and both show up good.It has to be something else in the system.anymore suggestions.Put charged battery in car start up and drive for a minute, park it and 40 min later car is totally dead.Check battery with cables on and no reading take cables off and battery reads 11. 8 v.Can something shut the system down.

Battery problems
Next time it happens turn key to start and hold it. Mine does the same thing when it gets cold. I used to rock the key back and forth and eventually it would catch. Now I just hold it in the start position and it kicks over!!
