Dolores, it was great meeting you, Carol and Lucy. While I know you went out on a limb with the four hour drive etc. I appreciate the delivery from Shop Rite more than you can imagine. Unlike the mechanics that were trying to take you to the cleaners, many here on the forum are here to help and would like to let people know that there are good people in the world.
I am glad to have helped for the few minutes that it took to fix the sender. Do me a favor though, don't get mad at me and please look in the cubby hole below your heater/ac controls. Sorry, I had to. =0)

Dan..this whole sender arm replacement deal is easier than swapping a set of plugs on our gen with the strut bar already off on a 75F sunny day with a cold beer on the rad support.
Pull the trunk carpet. Pull 5 7mm bolts and the hatch cover. 2 electrical connectors and two fuel lines, tap the retaining ring and lift the pump assembly out. Dunno what Hans was whacking so hard, the pins for the armatures popped easy for me, and then tap it back on. Reattach float, test before putting back into the tank and drop into the tank. Rehook retaining ring, fuel lines and electrical, hatch back on and carpet (shake off first) and put back in.
Then go in as Dan and Randy are doing a dog and pony show about how bad things are going and that they might need to spend the night. hahahahaha

Hi Dan,
I had a beautiful experience with BillBoost and met a few Forum friends at his home when I visited him. They were all so warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. He fixed my fuel gauge sender in record time. Well, I think a half hour sounds like record time to me. It works perfectly now. I'm convinced there can't be anyone who knows more about the Bonneville than he. I can go on with accalades about him and his generosity but I'm sure you've heard them before. I feel like I've become a member of a most wonderful family of friends that I never knew I had but finally found. Thanks for putting us together.

Any time. I'm just glad we were able to get your car all fixed up and saved you a ton of money while doing it. Bill knows his stuff, that'* why I put you to in touch.
