fuel door release
hey I am new to the Bonneville, but when I got the car I went to the gas station and had a helluva time looking for the fuel door release button, if there is even one. The attendant even came out and looked and we couldnt find it. So I used my key to push the tab back and allow the door to open. Can anyone tell me where the button is, if there is even one?

The fuel door releases when you unlock the car. Every once in a while mine won't release when the doors unlock, and all I have to do is hit the unlock button on the remote a couple of times to release it. As a last measure, there is a wire cable in your trunk on the left hand side that you can pull to release the gas cap.
Normally all you have to do to open the gas cap is unlock the car.

That explains it. When I used it once, I noticed the door was already unlocked. Then another instance it wouldnt open at all. But when I turned the key backwards for a few seconds (another trick I found the other day) the doors unlocked and I could hear a distinctly different springing sound coming from the rear driver side door, which I now know is the fuel door unlocking! Thanks

You are welcome. Don't forget to check inside the trunk for that wire cable. It comes out a slit in the trunk liner along the left side vertical wall, up near the front a bit. That will also release the fuel door.
