Swap the rotor from the RHS to the LHS. That is the only thing left that rotates.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the RHS hub has not been replaced, nor have either of the CV axles. All of which rotate.

I may have been hasty in my conclusion of swapping tires, front to rear. The shaking wasn't quite as bad this morning, as previously mentioned, but still kicks right in @ 60 mph.

As for the rotors, I would simply replace both of them before swapping sides. The driver side is clearly worn, as there'* a lip around the outer edge of the rotor. Haven't paid much attention to the passenger side.

Again, sorry for not taking immediate action. Work sucks and life is busy.

I asked on page 3 if we had eliminated the CV shafts and I was quickly dismissed by someone else.

I'm done here. This guy doesn't do anything to eliminate things. We still don;t know that it'* not a wheel/tire.

Uh, yeah I'm pretty sure we do. I swapped the passenger side tires and yeah I was angry so I posted as such. My bad. That swap did eliminate some of the shaking. I'll do the drivers side if I ever get a moment to myself after work.

Weekends are about the only free time I get, so you all might have to wait until then for an informative update.

Were you able to find a road force balancer? They are becoming quite common these days.

Also, how many miles have you owned this car?

Did it experience any trauma prior to this starting?

Did this start suddenly or gradually?

I don't know how I missed that. Crap.

Let'* see, never heard of road force balancing. If I need stuff done with tires, I'll drop my garbage off at Jack Williams. Whatever they do, they do.

I bought it with about 190K. It'* nearing 192K. The car I had before this was rear ended and totaled. That was Jan 12 of this year. I happened upon the Bonneville 2 weeks later. Bought it that day.

Trauma? Yeah I hit a pothole. Wasn't even that bad, but it was icy frozen wasteland cold that morning. Roads were salted mush. So a cold swampy pit. Noticed the 60 mph sybian mode that same morning.

Know what... I'm done with this mess, too. Either I'm getting used to it or it'* truly not as bad since the other night. Blah.

Instead of dealing with the headache of trying to figure this out, take it to a shop, pay the 1 hour min diag fee and have them find it. Then you can fix it yourself.

Ah okay. Well, a bent rim can balance fine. So can a square rim. How round is it? A road-force balancer will tell you. If they don't have one and you've advised of this complaint, it'* time to go somewhere else for this issue. A road force balancer looks like a normal spin balancer with the addition of a smaller wheel that it pushes against the tread of the tire to measure rolling defects. Out of round, hard spots, bent rim, etc. All of the Discount Tire stores in my area have them. For example.
