Took it up to 75 mph this morning. Shakes violently on the passenger side front from 60 mph on up. Great.......

Dunno what to think at this point. Maybe the shop didn't put the tires on in the same location where they came from, and I simply have a bad tire. All the balancing in the world won't help that. I'll go switch the front and rear tires on the passenger side later today. I'm getting tired (LOL) of chasing this damn shaking.

Do you have steel rims? If so the rim is bent. You don't do what I ask or we would know the answer to this problem. SWAP front to rear. Problem moved it'* the rim and if not the hub

You don't know how old the tires are and you bought one new one. Why not get a set of tires for this thing. A tire with a broken belt could be the problem.

I've had a belt shift on a tire and cause violent shaking. I will never buy "cheap" tires again....The brand was Sumic GT by Sumitomo.

First, let me correct a previous post. The OBDII scanner I have is an Innova 6030, not 5210 like I have previously listed and it was well worth the money.

Next, I do not have steel wheels. They are alloy wheels with a faux chrome finish. I wish they were steelies because I'm not a fan of chrome wheels.

The tire brand is Goodyear Assurance and the date code is 3919. The one-off tire is some generic brand that the tire shop had in stock when I had them replace it.

I replaced the hub on the drivers side because it was throwing an ABS error. See the second sentence in this post...

With that, @ Carfixer007: The tire shop may have inadvertently did what you asked. After picking up the car from getting the tires balanced, The one-off tire was NOT in the same place (right rear) that I had installed it. It was on the left rear, instead. Maybe the fronts are swapped, too. However, if they rotated the tires, that one-off would be up front. I'm telling you, they probably took all 4 tires off, balanced them, then didn't pay attention to where they reinstalled them. Typical over booked, under staffed shop.

I can still swap front to rear, that'* not the issue. The problem right now is I'm not venturing out to the interstate unless I have to. The roads around here are icy friggen slush boxes of salt.

Update. I-80E is my asphalt track lol. I finally got a chance to let her rip @ 80 mph. This is the norm to and from work. Yep, pretty sure it'* the front passenger side tire that'* giving me the problems. Tonight after work, it'* getting swapped to the rear (providing it'* not 10 below zero outside, with a swampy pit of road salt and slush. You all see what'* taking so long to get this done now, yes???

I cannot tolerate cold weather - PERIOD.

Providing that the rear starts acting up after the swap tonight, we will at long last have an answer to this most elusive problem.

Now I have another question: I see that Goodyear Assurance tires are ridiculously expensive. I'm sorry but $135 before tax and shipping is flat out extorsion. I don't see how such an expensive tire just goes bad all of a sudden, if that'* the problem.

Last update until I get some more ideas/suggestion because the problem still isn't fixed. I swapped the front and rear passenger side tires. Happy now, Carfixer007? (lol) Sorry it took so long. Life is busy. It made very little difference. Left side seems a little more shimmy shimmy bang bang, now.

Ya know, I have 6 vehicles in my fleet. 4 are classics that will not see winter so long as I own them. The other one is my Wife'* daily driver. The Bonneville is the ONLY vehicle with 17" tires, or I'd swap a full set over from another vehicle and we'd have the answer for sure.

Another set of wheels would be great.

Anyway, things seemed a little less shaky this morning. Guess I'm just going to have to deal with it until a money tree grows in my back yard......
