While I have the throttle body off and cleaning it up, I had to remove the idle speed control valve and was it dirty with carbon deposits.
With my EGR bypass now it should be staying a lot cleaner.
Bringing in fresh air instead of exhaust gases has way more advantages than disadvantages IMO.

I made my egr plate up last night now I have to source a wee air filter for the egr. I tapped the aluminum egr plate so I could put it back to normal if 'things' need to be put back

There is a recall for that manifold coolant leak, or prevention of it ifit isn't leaking yet.
Mine goes in sometime next week.

How come I never received a notification of this recall ?
Well, it doesn't matter now because I fixed it but that is disappointing. Sounds like GM tries to hide their recalls and only lets one know I one complains.....sometimes not even then.

It looks like it had been leaking a little too.
Sure was a lot of carbon and grime in there. It was worth it to remove it for a cleaning, even with as low mileage as I have. I'm sure now, with the EGR bypass, that it won't be getting that dirty again. Now I know why it'* necessary to do in order to keep an intercooler heat exchanger clean.
This really pisses me off..........there shouldn't be this kind of premature leaking in an almost new vehicle.
I really hope that GM designers monitor this site for some feedback.
I wonder if they do monitor us?
That was kinda sneaky with the rusted manifolds but we gotta do what we gotta do
GM does monitor this website. They login as a guest quite often.

I know I log in here while at work from time-to-time! Since it'* a GM datalink too, but it is possible that someone hire up IS monitoring this site too. I know Ty get'* his site (DP) checked regularly by the Caddy engineers from GM.

Just a little FYI!
I do know that some of my suppliers & Ty'* (probably others too) check out the Bonneville Forums (BC, BA & MNBC) to see what'* what every now then. I know this because one of my suppliers has told me he checks them out! They like knowing what'* being said about there products too after all!
