Compass question/problem for this year of Bonne
This could've been posted in electrical or audio, but i chose to post it here since it deals with this year of car. The Techinfo article does not distinguish what year of car the compass relocation information is for.
Here'* one of my problems: I'm not sure which module is the actual compass module. Here'* one of the modules i found:
Upon closer inspection, it says "Compass Transducer", whatever that means:
Now, according to the Techinfo article, this is what i thought was the compass from the description:
Moving that latter module from the trunk and atop the rear deck did nothing. When my speaker box is pushed up against the back seat, i get no compass:
When my speaker box is pushed up against the trunk closer, i get my compass back:
So, i'm assuming that i moved the wrong module? The Compass Transducer module has much shorter wire and would be a pain in the @ss to relocate as it has many wires in it'* harness. Any suggestions?

An iron plate will still alter the magnetic flux field around the sender though. While it might help, your transducer may not be able to calibrate correctly, or may still have a direction error.

I checked the FSM, and that shows the same location as the link at AllData. Perhaps it had already been moved? If you can't move it far enough away to make it work properly, the iron plate (other than removing or moving your sub) may be your only alternative. Placement and orientation of the plate can make a difference - and as Bill mentioned - it still may not be enough to fix the problem.

The AllData link shows it on the left side. The arrow toward the top of the picture points to the front of the car. The rectangular area farther down shows the pass-through to the interior of the car. That'* the same picture that is in the FSM.
