I guess we don't know the outcome to the original problem?

Good luck!

PS. Please take CAPS LOCK off. Posts are difficult to read when they are typed in CAPS, and it is considered shouting (even though we know you aren't).

Default sig

Please put your year make and trim level in your sig. It helps us as we scroll down and read.

In addition to pulling the plugs, you should pull the drive belt and check all external parts for a lockup condition as well as inspect the harmonic balancer.

Default Update on 2001 Bonneville headache.

:(
Well, we finally have gotten around to trying to tear the car apart. What we have found so far, by taking the oil pan off, is one rod cap is totally destroyed, the crank is bent, gouged and mangled. We are still trying to take the motor out of the car. We had to take off the rod caps just to get the motor to turn over so we could undo the torque plate bolts. Now we are fighting the one transaxle bolt to the motor that is the opposite way of the rest. We may end up just pulling the transaxle with the motor.

I will try to keep you posted as things go on.

Thanks
Christy

pulling the motor and trans together is much easier as one unit...especially on the 00+'*

Default UPDATE

Well, we got the bolt out. A few bloody knuckles, but its out. Now we are trying to get the motor to separate from the transaxle and are finding it to be tough. We have all of the bolts out but we can't seem to get it to seperate.

Any suggestions???

Don't forget the rear motor mount that bolts to the transaxle.
