I amde the switch to an OPTIMA yellow top, Ive been great for six months now. No fumes whatsoever. I even plugged up my vent hole .

Yeah because no ability to vent = battery rupture = severe corrosion/fire/explosion.

They are a ventless battery, It is a completely sealed unit. They are the best batteries. they can be mounted in any postion ....even upside down.

they are sealed against normal venting, but if it does become overcharged, or builds a lage amount of pressure, it still has the caps that will blow off to relieve the pressure

He is correct. I got that response straight from Optimum that it will vent if overcharged.

Yeah a battery is a battery, I have seen those grey foam looking caps melt and catch on fire when over charged on an Optima

Guys is there any kind of rubber mate or tray that can form fit out Bonnie'* under the battery so the acid doesn't get on the metal??

Interesting thought Cowboy...I haven't heard of anyone trying it. Would be worth looking around for...if there'* room.
