Wow I didnt know the 3800 got such poor gass miles in city but great miles highway? I wonder if the cause is too much heavy footing around town? My old GXP got around 18.5 city and 25 or 26 highway.

Caution about using the DIC as your source of figuring out your average mgp - some of ours are about 1 mpg higher than when calculated.
Driving style has a huge impact on average mpg'* too. My son will get 3-4 mpg less than I will in the same car, same roads.

Generally I do about 300 miles per week and I get an average of 21-22 mpg. Everyday the DIC creeps up 1/10 and it hasn't leveled off yet... so I might be getting more.

well, havent seen my car in about 5 months, but when I was home I was getting around 19-20 mpg, that is assuming the display is right. I never bothered to do the math at the pump to find out for sure.....oh yeah....thats on the '00

If I reset the DIC and start out over a 2 mile stretch from the gas station to my house, it will register 36 mpg on the DIC.
I just used 3/4 of a tank today traveling at 75 mph ave , in hilly terrain including idling for 45 min at the border and the DIC says 24 mpg.

FWIW, the DIC on our '00 SSEi says 22.7mpg last time I looked at it. We bought the car brand new in '00. It has 190k+ miles on it, and gets the **** beat out of it, and the DIC has never been reset on it. So it doesn't do too bad i guess. No complaints, especially since its a modded car.

I just got back after a long trip in the Bonne and the best I got at 70 mph was 27 mpg on a full tank of fuel.
As soon as you put you foot into into it the mileage will drop.
On my return trip driving mostly in 3rd and 2nd gear in hilly terrain I only averaged 22 mpg.
When I get 36 mpg it is 40% slight uphill and 60% slight downhill grade over 2 miles.
