Alarm keeps on dinging after teh door is closed
I have a 2005 Boniville. The door alarm contines for a long peroid of time after I close the door. My grandson put a qutor in the cd player just before this problem started. The alarm does not go off but the dinging gos on for about 5 mins after the door is shut. Is there a way of reseting the alarm to default to how it use to be?

It is a regular Bonniville. WHen the door is open, it only states teh dor ajared however it does not indacate which doo it is. THis has to do with the anit theif device that keeps dinging even after I shut the door eith with me in it or out of the car. I did notice the anti theif symbol on the radio is flashing.

Oh, by the way... Welcome to the club!

Was it a quarter that your grandson put in the CD player? The light flashing on the radio is normal. Does it matter which door you open, or is it just the driver'* door that caused the problem?

If it is the door open chime that you are hearing, start out by removing fuse #7 (DRV MDL) from the rear fuse box. Does the chime stop? If so, after replacing the fuse, remove the door panel from the driver'* door. About halfway down and toward the front, you'll see the driver'* door module. Disconnect C2 that looks like this.
If the chime stops, the problem is likely with the door latch that contains the door open switch. If it continues, the problem is likely the driver'* door module. If the chimes continue regardless, the problem lies elsewhere.
