Airbag module

Airbag module
My '01 Bonneville has an airbag warning light on the dash, although I've not had any sort of collision. GM service says I need a new passenger side SIR module ($475 touch). I've been reading threads here and thought I had read that this module was located under the passenger seat beneath the carpet. I just got there and I don't see any sort of module, only a wiring harness contained in a large, flat plastic enclosure. I see a harness branching off into the center console. Could this be going to the module? I've read advertisements claiming they can "reboot" these modules for $49. Thought I might check it out, as it'* apparently no good to me as is. If I can't fix this inexpensively, is there a way to make the warning light disappear? If I understand correctly, I can leave things as they are, I simply won't have a functioning airbag on the passenger side.
Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

If GM Service says you need a Passenger side SIR Module, and they actually plugged in to the vehicle, then that is probably what you need. I believe that is the one in the dash.

Haven't been on this site in awhile. Just noticed this thread I posted. Turns out I needed the complete driver side airbag/module, which is basically the center of the steering wheel.
Mr Goodwrench wanted $850 for the part alone and $50 to install. Surprisingly, they told me if I could find my own part elsewhere, they would install it. I really lucked out and found a brand new oem replacement online for $100 (tax/shipping included). from Shramm auto parts. True to their word Mr. G.Wr. installed for $50 and I was off to the races. Hope this tip helps out someone else in this same jam. ($850 for that part is criminal.) Wes.
