2000+ Security Light
Any new info. on the 2000 and up security light?
Mine seems to come on only when the temps dip below 50*
Car runs fine, just wondered what the security light monitored.

If you have the content theft deterrent as part of your system, it also monitors the door lock actuators, the door modules, the remote control door lock receiver, and the driver'* door lock cylinder switch. An intermittent in any of those will turn on the security light.

I am not sure what the Door Module controls, but base on my experience in manufacturing, I would think the the remote control door lock receiver would be highly suspect. Electronic components can be sensitive to temperature change not as much with electro-mechanical components. Of course, if you have a connection issue with the wire harness, throw that out the window too.

The RIM (rear integration module) as well as the DIM (dash integration module) also get involved. The only way to tell for sure would be a scan with a Tech II or similar. It should show where the problem lies.
