ZZP or Intense Racing?

I was running a 15.4 with just no muffler, no air filter and a good tune up. Just kept the engine cool. And threw all the **** out of my trunk.
And I don't think it would mean you're into the 13'* ... if you've got the weight down to that level ... power is based on an exponential compounding curve in order to reach it... saying "this will drop off a tenth" isn't true at a certian level.
Example: Weight 3600 lbs
ET HP
16.0 195
15.5 205
15.0 235
14.5 260
14.0 290
13.5 320
13.0 370
These are not made up out of no where numbers... do a search for any numbr of 1/4 mile calculators and you'll find that they are relatively close to what others will say/do. I have access to a professional program at my school'* lab so these should be closer than what those will give.

I'd say 5 for a k&n, and MAYBE 10 for a full custom intake, but you won't gain full advantage of that without other mods.
With out an air filter on my taurus we dyno'd a solid 13-14 horsepower difference. And that intake is much less restrictive than the Bonneville one. The bonneville'* air silencer is even before the filter ... the thing begs to be removed.

Take all the **** out of the trunk. Saved me nearly 50 lbs. And that'* worth a tenth. I didn't have amps and subs so if you've got those then you're really looking at a weight savings -- Free
Don't worry about a "Cold Air Intake"
Use steel 15-16" rims from the junkyard. They weigh less than those fancy *** mag rims.
Thanks for all the help so far. I got plenty of time till track opens up again to think of different combos and such. It would be nice if I can dyno and run after each mod to see if its a +/-, but I guess that would have to wait till next spring. Anybody know of any N/A Bonnies that do run in the 14'*. [/quote]
