My 93 bonneville sse will not hold a charge for more than 4 hours in cold weather..... i have a new battery. every time i turn it off i notice a small compressor of some sort (between engine and driverside tire) starting to run...... it will go for a minute or two and then stop..... after a while i believe it runs again...... is there a common problem with the car not holding a charge? could it have something to do with compressor?
please help me!!!![/b]

The compressor is trying to pump up the back end of the car. That'* your levelling system. More than likely you have a leak in the system causing the rear end of the car to sag back down, like a leaky basketball.

If i unplug the compressor in the engine will it help or harm anything?
How might i go about detecting the source of the leak?
could it be a seal? a hose? Where else would i look for leaks? Do i really need to have it plugged in?
where do i start?
Thanx so much for your help!!

Here'* another option for the Air Ride Struts too>

I would check the hoses to the Rear Struts though, possibly only a line that'* cracked or fallen off.
