For now go ahead with the NGK TR55 sparks... They will be worth it...
As of this point I really don't know what to tell you... If the trans guy doesn't think its a trans problem, then you need to take care of all of the other issues first...
I do have a question tho as I'm not a supercharged guy( wishing I was... )
Will the EGR have as much of a driveability effect on an SC engine as it would an NA'd engine?
What if anything could cause these driveability issues?

I just put Delco Iridium'* into my 95 SSEi and they are working great.
Is it just me or do these babies seem to have a few electrical nightmares?
Just bought a big tube of dielectric goop for my connectors!

PLugs you can pick up NGK TR-55'* at any parts store...I got mine from NAPA in New Ulm....Just where I happened to be when I decided to get them and a few other things.....Personally I thin kthat we should set your car up like mine....T-Stat and all and then see what codes we get and go from there...I bought the stuff tonight to scrub the EGR on my car...never got that far....but I'll do it tommorow and go from there.
Your fuel trim code could be FPR related if you never had that changed. Could contribute to your starting problem too....I had kinda the same issue until I changed mine.

Next time before you start it cycle the ignition on and off several times, giving it long enough for the fuel pump to stop.. Then try and start it...
Got a fuel pressure tester? Lets rule things out 1 by one here..
What have you done so far?

I would suggest getting something like Autolite 605'* (available at Wal-Mart for $1.97 for two) and gapping them at .055-.057" (as per Nate'* suggestion). They're cheap, and will suit you well -they're the same as what I run now, and what alot of the GTP guys run without problem.
